Ratzlaff Construction

Steve is one of the most well-liked contractors in commercial construction, with a history spanning 30+ years in the Charlotte area. He began his career in 1986 as a superintendent after earning a civil engineering degree from NC State University. By 1990 Steve was managing projects, from small commercial upfits to large, complex projects including Metrolina YMCA, Piedmont Community Charter School, Long Animal Hospital, Davidson College Admissions Building, and car dealerships for both Infinity and Mercedes Benz.

It’s the responsibility of every construction group to make safety a priority. Each member of the Ratzlaff team is OSHA-10 certified, but we’ve taken it a step beyond that by investing in a dedicated in-house Safety Director. Dan Hinson ensures safety on all of our jobsites, drawing on past experience with the Health and Safety Committee for the Carolinas’ Association of General Contractors (CGAC), the Safety and Risk Management Committee for the NC Utility Contractors Association (NUCA), and the Safety and Risk Management Committee for Wells Fargo Insurance Services. Dan is a graduate of the Association of General Contractors Safety Management Training Program, The OSHA Institute, and several advanced courses in the OSHA Standards for Construction from the United States Department of Labor.
